“I assert that your primary responsibility as a facilitator is to keep people breathing in the face of their greatest fears - including rejection, not knowing, being wrong, losing something, and the future. And you do it for the sake of what the people you collaborate with want most: change, possibility, connection, revelation, clarity, purpose, futures. ”
I often meet my clients on the precipice of a change, whether that be a culture change, a structural change, or a leadership change. As we embrace change, our organizational systems for decision-making, communication, and conflict need to adapt too. My work supports organizations in becoming more responsive to change: from building a foundation of trust, to collaborative design, to practicing generative conflict, to emergence and iteration (and back again!).
Most often, my client relationships span months or even years, iterating to be most responsive to emerging needs. A project can (and often does) include all of the offerings below, though I am open to shorter-term projects with more limited scope.
I value rigorous and creative collaboration with both my clients and fellow consultants. I often consult in partnership with other trusted facilitators, creators, artists and activists.
Many groups benefit from an external facilitator to establish a shared vision, build community, or make key decisions. I create the needed space for teams to push their practice closer to their values. Through engaging organizational retreats or meeting spaces, I can design a process for your team move into greater alignment with one another and with its purpose.
With a specific focus on equity, power, and identity, my coaching can help organizational leaders shift ineffective and harmful power dynamics to build engagement and collaboration among their team. I help leaders focus on the power of the collective, embrace experimentation, and lead with a bold vision.
I use the Real-Time Strategic Planning method, combined with other tools for organizational development, to design a bespoke strategic planning process that won’t just sit on the shelf. Using a structured, yet flexible and inclusive process, we engage internal and external stakeholders to inform a strategic future for the organization that is rooted in vision, values, and sustainability.
My facilitation practice focuses on building organizational and relational infrastructure for navigating conflict and creating the cultural container necessary for effective conflict management. I offer restorative practices for addressing disagreements, interpersonal or identity-based conflict, as well as support team processes aimed at healing the organizational environment in the aftermath of conflict.
